Melia Trost

Melia first learned about Flashes of Hope during her daugther's cancer treatment and held
the first Norfolk shoot in January 2007. She is also one of the co-founders of Moms Helping Moms (MHM), a
group that supports families of pediatric cancer patients at the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters Hospital. The group is comprised of six women,five of whom are mothers of cancer survivors. The MHM members are each playing a diferent role in making the Flashes of Hope chapter such a success. Melia has been active in a variety of fundraising efforts for pediratic cancer on both the local and national level. She has her undergraduate degree in Political Science (B.A.) from Christopher Newport University.
