Bev came to the FOH project from the cancer patient perspective. As she fought off Stage 3 Ovarian cancer during 2006 and having seen a national news report on Flashes, she vowed to bring FOH to the children of Charlotte. After being named Chapter Director in August of 2006, the project then became the carrot in front of her which greatly helped in the healing process. A reoccurrence of the disease did not deterred her in any way from continuing to bring joy to the children. She understood living with cancer, and related to their battles and the need to just be a kid.

Bev was a graduate of East Carolina University, School of Art with a BS in Education and a Studio Major in Wood Design. She was a professional artist focusing in watercolors and rustic furniture design. She was the proud mother of two fine young women and wife to her wonderful husband Robert, her rock.
