Children with cancer are smiling today at a Flashes of Hope shoots. Our dedicated volunteer chapter directors coordinate photo shoots within the nation's top hospitals and at special events for children with cancer. Whether photographing one child isolated in a bone marrow unit or a hundred kids having fun at summer camp, it's an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

Nancy Padgett

Nancy Padgett and her long-time friend Kim Conard began the Flashes of Hope NC Triangle Chapter in 2007. Collaborating on managing and organizing Flashes of Hope monthly harnesses their complementary skill sets to provide a truly wonderful experience for NC families dealing with Life Threatening illness at UNC's Children's Hospital. Nancy, a dedicated Business Development Manager at Colliers Engineering and Design, has been involved with Flashes of Hope for a majority of her career. Colliers is a trusted provider of engineering and design services, is deeply committed to the community and proudly supports Nancy's remarkable work with Flashes of Hope. Flashes of Hope is a testament to the power of friendship, community, and the desire to make a difference in the lives of those in need. With Nancy and Kim's unwavering commitment, this organization continues to bring joy, hope, and lasting memories to the children and families it serves here in Eastern North Carolina.

Kimberly Conard

Kim and her long time friend Nancy Padgett started the Triangle Chapter at UNC Childrens Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC in May, 2007. She wanted to bring the chapter to UNC because she witnessed first hand the compassion and respect of the hospital staff during her nephews frequent visits. Kim has worked with Davis Kane Architects as the office manager for the past 12 years. In addition to Flashes of Hope, she also volunteers her time with Make-A-Wish as a wish grantor. She graduated from West Virginia University with a BA in International Studies.

Nancy Padgett serves at the Co-Director. She works as the Director of Marketing and Business Development for PWI Consulting Engineers, an MEP Consulting Design firm. PWI has designed both renovations and new additions for UNC Health Care over the last 10 years. Nancy is a North Carolina native who has lived and worked in the Triangle for over 6 years after her return from a 10 year residence in Baltimore, MD.
